Hello!
Thank you for reviewing our profile and getting to know our family.  We -- Brian, Angela, and Ariana -- are thrilled at the thought of expanding our family.  We realize you are faced with such an extremely difficult and important decision, and we are honored that you are considering us in your adoption plan.  We hope you will find comfort in learning what we can offer to you and your precious baby.

Our beginnings...
Brian’s cousin and Angela’s best friend had decided we would be a good couple and tried to get us to meet several times.  After several failed attempts, we met in 1999 at a football game as Seniors in high school.  For Brian it was love at first sight, and Angela was swayed by Brian’s persistence and his shy smile.  We soon found that our interests and beliefs were very similar and could not imagine life without each other.  We dated long-distance through college and married in 2004.  This August will mark our 5-year anniversary, and our marriage has only gotten stronger.

Why adopt...
We have loved every minute of being parents. Raising Ariana has brought so much joy to our lives!  We want to be able to experience another child growing up – to give that child unconditional love and care.  Complications following Ariana’s birth left Angela unable to have any more children.  Never having wanted just one child, we have found adoption to be a beautiful way to add to our family.  Both of us are so close with our siblings that we feel it is important for our children to have siblings to share child and adulthood with!

Angela...
Angela is a devoted, loving wife and mother who enjoys spending lots of quality time with her family.  Angela loves cooking and makes a big breakfast every Sunday morning.  Brian has joked that her cooking is the reason he married her.  She is strong in her faith and enjoys helping others when she can.  Because Angela loves to scrapbook, she is always sure to take pictures and write down favorite memories.  She believes firmly in using hands-on experiences to teach children.  Be it letting Ariana help bake cookies to digging in the garden, she’s okay with a mess!  Angela uses her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in her work as a dairy nutritionist at the family business.  Angela’s work schedule is even more flexible than Brian’s, including shortened weeks and/or hours, depending on the need.  This gives her days off to take Ariana to visit cousins to play with or to go on mini adventures.  Angela looks forward to creating new adventures with another child.

Brian...
When one first meets Brian, he is quiet and reserved.  However, once he opens up, he is very funny, honest, and passionate.  Brian is part owner of his family’s feed mill where he manages the day-to-day schedule.  Being a business owner is a lot of work but it gives him quite a bit of flexibility and accessibility also.  He really enjoys bowling and raising and showing registered dairy cattle from calves to mature cows at the county fair.  Brian is an incredibly dedicated husband and father; therefore family needs come first.  He always gives each of his girls special attention each day.  He will race into Ariana’s room when he hears that she is awake so that she can go feed the cows in her pajamas with him (she loves animals!).  Brian looks forward to creating this type of bond with another child.

Ariana...
Ariana is a charming little girl with a bubbly personality.  She is a very talkative two-year old who constantly brings a smile to our faces by telling us about whatever has her attention.  She is thrilled by animals, whether our cats, the neighbor’s chickens, or daddy’s cows.  The idea of being a big sister excites Ariana.  She loves babies and points them out anywhere we go.  Ariana is all smiles when she gets to hold her new cousin on her lap.

Our faith...
Our faith in God is essential to us, as we’ve seen His miracles performed in our lives.  Brian grew up in the Catholic Church, but attends a local United Methodist Church with Angela and Ariana.  Angela was raised Methodist and has attended regularly for much of her life.  We help with the church’s dinners and musical events.  Angela is part of the church advisory council and helps with planning the church’s activities.

It is important to us that our children be raised in our faith and our core values.   Together we say bedtime prayers with Ariana.  She has grown fond of this and is insistent that we are both present for prayers (and makes sure we have our head down before we begin!). This family prayer time brings us all together for a time of thanksgiving each night.   We cannot wait to share this time with another child!

Our home...
Our two-story farmhouse is on the edge of a small community.  The community offers a playground just up the street with many children playing.  Being on an 18-acre end lot, there is very little traffic and lots of room for play.  Trees surround our home giving plenty of shade from the summer heat and piles of leaves for jumping in the fall.  A wrap-around porch surrounds the front of our home providing a great area for picnics and play.   Our back yard looks out into the cow pasture where Brian’s heifers graze.  Our family garden is also behind the house.  From it we eat fresh strawberries, peas, potatoes, cucumbers, and more through the summer.  Our home has 3 large bedrooms, all of which are on the second story.  The nursery is painted green and has baby animals decorating the wall.  Brian’s great-grandmother’s rocking chair sits in the corner.  Our home is also shared with our three cats: Sharky, Tiger, and Beauford.  Each of them has a unique personality but are equally good with children.

Our families & friends...
Family is an integral part of our lives.  Because of the family business, we spend a lot of time with Brian’s mom, dad, and grandparents.  Outside of work, we will often eat dinner with Brian’s parents.  They love being grandparents and watch Ariana in the mornings when Angela is at work.  Brian has one sister who is a teacher and also lives very close.  They all love babies and cannot wait to have another one in the family.

Angela is one of six children, making a very large family!  Between her siblings, she has ten nieces and nephews.  Despite her mother’s passing two years ago, the family has remained close knit and we look forward to big family get-togethers that occur in the summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Angela’s dad is also from a big family of eight.  All the aunts and uncles and cousins gather every summer for chicken barbeque and a game of softball.  All of them have enjoyed watching Ariana grow and cannot wait to meet our new addition!

We remain very good friends with the couple that introduced us.  They too married and now have two children, so we have a long history together.  All of our families and friends have been extremely supportive in our adoption plans.

Fun times...
We are a family that enjoys being together, and our activities vary with the season. We go for walks and bike rides whenever we can, and this gives us time to connect as a family as well as with our neighbors. We love to plant, weed, and harvest our garden in the spring and summer.  While this may sound like work, it truly is a lot of fun.  The look on a child’s face when they eat the season’s first strawberry is truly priceless.  During the summer we attend at least two county fairs.  Usually, we’ll enter a couple of Brian’s cows into the show and stay overnight in a tent on the fair grounds.  Additionally, we make time to go on vacation and day trips. Whether we go to an amusement park or the zoo, we love to take trips together! We look forward to taking longer trips across the United States, as our children get older.  In autumn, we visit the pumpkin farm and let everyone pick out their own pumpkin. When the leaves fall, we rake them into a pile to jump in them. As the weather changes, we spend as much time outside as it allows. During the winter we spend much more time indoors playing games and baking cookies. As much fun as we have inside, when the snow falls we make sure to get some sleigh riding in too!

Open adoption...
Believing that honesty is the best policy, we will be open with our child on how they came to our family.  It will be their special story and that will be expounded upon as they grow.  We are willing to consider any level of openness you desire.

If selected, we promise to give your child unconditional love and acceptance.  They will always know of the deep love that you have for them.  We will give them every opportunity to follow their ambitions.  We value education and have already started a college fund.

Thank you!
We appreciate your taking time to learn about us as
a couple and possible adoptive family.  We would
love to talk or meet with you to answer any
questions you may have.   Please know that if
you choose us to be the family for your baby, they
will be unconditionally welcomed into the hearts of
a warm loving family.  We would feel very blessed to
become parents to your child.  Our prayer is that
you will be at peace with whatever decision you
make for you and your child.
